Our AEA has provided a number of PD opportunities for instructional coaches last year and this year, too.

Last year, our instructional coaches participated in learning facilitated by the New Teacher Center. Pete Hall (ASCD!) did a one day event, which was helpful for us, because we had read his book ahead of time.

Elena Aguilar visited Des Moines in May 2016 and we were impressed with her perspective.

Jim Knight is on the docket this year for our next level of learning.

Thanks, Matt, and I know several AEAs have used the work of Diane Sweeney. The Iowa ASCD website on professional learning communities offers several webinars, articles, and supports. It can be located at

We are learners here at BC.

We have participated in the New Teacher Center and Knight Training with GWAEA. We've also learned with Pete Hall and Elena Aguilar in the summer of 2015 in Jefferson, Iowa and ate at a great place "209 Main" in Paton, Iowa thanks to @marandavc suggestion.

We will be attending the Sweeney Training at AEA267, as well as continuing to learn with Pete Hall and Alisa Simeral at GWAEA this year. We have and continue to do book studies, as a team, from all of the above authors.

We participated in the TL sharing day at Solon last year and have hosted two EdCamps focusing on Teacher Leadership and plan on hosting our third on June 20, 2017. We'd love to learn from and with everyone who can attend.
