Grace Dearborn - Conscious Teaching

Conscious Teaching with Grace Dearborn - December 1, 2016

Conscious Teaching: How to Motivate, Manage, and Engage All Students is an interactive workshop that addresses common issues and behaviors that arise when working with students who seem disconnected from school, have difficulty paying attention and/or getting work done. The workshop will give beginning and veteran K-12 teachers dozens of practical “brain-based” strategies that they can use to help get all their students involved and motivated. Participants will leave with their tool kit overflowing with ideas that will help create the classroom environment focused on learning for all.

In this training participants will learn how to:

  • Get and maintain the attention of all students
  • Actively engage students in their learning
  • De-escalate tension and reduce arguing in the classroom
  • Use consequences to teach behavioral lessons rather than to punish
  • Use current research in neuroscience to make strategic instructional decisions
