Event Description

Day 1 of Curriculum Leadership Academy 2018 with Peter Dewitt (04/19/2018 - 04/19/2018)

Thank for registering for Day 1 of the 2018 Curriculum Leadership Academy -  "Leadership Impacts:  Influencing What Matters Most!" 
 
Please plan to join us for on-site registration and continental breakfast from 7:30 - 8:30 AM. on April 19, 2018, at the FFA Enrichment Center, which is located at 1055 SW Prairie Trail Parkway in Ankeny, IA 50023.
 
Dr. Peter Dewitt will be addressing "Collaborative Leadership:  6 Influences That Matter Most" from 8:30 AM. - 3:30 PM.
 
The participants will . . .
* Understand the importance of, and research behind, collaboration as a school leader
* Learn why within school variance between teachers may be an issue to focus on because it is much wider than the variance between schools (PISA)
* Learn how collective teacher efficacy is a way to minimize within school variance among teachers
* Learn how/when to use tools such as the flipped model to build collaboration
* Learn how there are at least 6 influences to increase your success as a collaborative leader
* Walk away with numerous practical actions to use in their classroom or school regardless of whether they are a teacher, school, district or division leader.
Date:  April 19, 2018 (8:30 AM. - 3:30 PM. with continental breakfast available from 7:30 - 8:30 AM.)
 
Site of Conference:  FFA Enrichment Center, 1055 SW Prairie Trail Parkway in Ankeny, IA 50023.
 
Parking:  On site and free!
 
Lodging (if needed):  Courtyard by Marriott, 2405 SE Creekview Drive, Ankeny, IA  50021  
Rate:  $119 night + tax as long as you register before March 28 and share you are attending the Iowa ASCD conference.
 
Gone Green!  Be sure to bring your digital devices as we have gone green!  Handouts will be available electronically.
 
Food:  A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.  Be sure to let Jo Prusha (jprusha@benton.k12.ia.us) know of any special dietary needs by April 2, 2018
 
Cancellation Policy:  If you are unable to attend the event for which you registered, please contact Bridget Arrasmith (bridget.arrasmith@drake.edu or515.271.1872) at least 7 days in advance for a full refund.  If your notification is provided within one week of the event, you will be provided a written voucher that may be presented by an individual of your choice on the day of the event. Failure to notify the need for cancellation or replacement will result in the full charge for the event.
