Trauma responsive Schools: Foundation & Application
It is estimated that one in four children experience trauma. That number has likely increased due to numerous, sudden and drastic changes - bringing mental stress, loss and turmoil into our lives.
This one day training combines 2 three-hour workshops designed to give educators the tools needed to create effective learning environments that support the needs of traumatized students. Join us for this highly interactive learning opportunity incorporating videos, music, and discussion to increase the level of impact and application.
Understanding neurological and psychological development is an imperative part of working effectively with all students. To apply effective strategies, educators must:

During this interactive session, Administrators and teams will focus on the impacts of trauma on the learning environment and will return to their buildings with a plan for addressing them. The power of this workshop is in the team approach to examining current practices and defining roles to impact change.
Who should attend: Administrators, Counselors, Coaches, and School Leadership Team - any building leaders.

Iowa ASCD Non-members: $220.00 includes a one year membership in Iowa ASCD.

-- Iowa ASCD Event Cancellation Policy: Please note that our cancellation policy is a full refund up to one week in advance of the conference. Send your cancellation in writing to Becky Martin. Within 7 days of the start of the program, you may send a non-registered person in your place with written authorization/notification from you. Contact us with the substitution information.
